Nicolas Benoit

Nicolas Benoit is a PhD Candidate at the Chair of Mobility and Digital Innovation Management at the University of Zurich and a Doctoral Researcher at the School of Management and Law of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). His research sits at the intersection of strategic management and innovation. He studies how firms adapt their strategies and resources when technology and regulation change, and what this means for innovation and policy design. Mobility is the main empirical setting.

Before his PhD, Nicolas spent four years as an Economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), where he worked on technology diffusion, digital markets, and the cross-country measurement of the digital economy. His methods are primarily quantitative, combining econometrics with machine learning and natural language processing applied to large-scale data.
